About Tactex
Tactex uses a patented, proprietary technology called Kinotex® to enable a new class of OEM products and intelligent systems where rugged tactile force sensing is required. Originally developed by the Canadian Space Agency for use as a sensory skin on robots, Kinotex® sensors have a number of technical advantages over competing force sensitive resistors or capacitive sensors. Tactex sensors are durable, highly adaptable and sensitive to a wide dynamic range.
Since its establishment in 1998, Tactex has commercialized Kinotex® for use in a number of innovative consumer products including the Tactex BEDsensor Pro™ and BEDsensor Data™. The Tactex engineering and manufacturing teams also continue to conceptualize, develop and put to market custom solutions for clients internationally. Tactex can deliver tactile force sensors worldwide. Asian rights to Kinotex® are licensed by Tactex to Nitta Corporation.
