BEDsensor Actigraphy
The BEDsensor Actigraphy™ is a durable Kinotex sensor pad designed to be placed beneath a bed mattress where it can gather data on the movements of the bed occupant. Tactex provides a basic software package that uses the standards set by the science of Actigraphy to create a complete sleep profile for the bed occupant. BEDsensor Actigraphy software is designed for sleep professionals that are familiar with standard Actigraphy analysis. Additional SLEEPsensing software may be purchased for those that are interested in viewing pre-calculated sleep “scores”.
What is Actigraphy
Developed in the 1970’s as a supplement to lab-based sleep monitoring systems, Actigraphy records the body’s natural movements and relates this data to a person’s sleep-wake cycle. Sleep professionals use movement profiles to characterize sleep and circadian patterns and document a subject’s response to treatments.
Why use an under-mattress Actigraphy sensor?
Product trials have validated that the highly sensitive properties of Kinotex make Tactex under-mattress sensor pad technology a viable solution for monitoring both minute and gross motor movements. Research has indicated that a 35” x 9 ½” Kinotex sensor pad is sophisticated enough to capture movement data from a bed occupant's respiration – even when positioned beneath the mattress. In addition under-mattress sensor pads offer the following key advantages for monitoring sleep-based movements:
