David Lokhorst
President and CEO
David Lokhorst has a strong combination of leadership skill and experience in bringing innovative new technology to market. Mr. Lokhorst took over as CEO of Tactex from the founding president, Dr. Inkster, to lead the transition from a company focused on research and development to one focused on sales and manufacturing. Prior to joining Tactex, Mr. Lokhorst was President of RSI Technologies Ltd., a company that made specialized automatic and remote control systems for heavy equipment OEMs such as Caterpillar and P&H Mining Equipment. Throughout his career, Mr. Lokhorst has managed sales and development teams introducing innovative process, mechanical, electronic, and software technologies. Mr. Lokhorst is a registered professional engineer, and has a degree in engineering from the University of British Columbia, and a masters degree in engineering from the University of Toronto.
Dr. Robert Inkster
Executive Chairman of the Board
Dr. Inkster founded Tactex in 1998 and held the position of President and CEO until 2006. He has served as a senior executive in technology firms over the past 20 years. He was one of the founding shareholders and Vice-President of Radar Division for Intera Technologies, a company which was publicly traded on the TSE and NASDAQ through the early 1990s. Subsequently, he was President of Quester Tangent Corporation, a private company manufacturing marine instrumentation. He is a director of several private and public companies and served as Vice-Chair of the Board of Governors of the Emily Carr School of Art and design in Vancouver. He holds degrees in Physics and Meteorology from the University of Victoria and McGill University.
Scot Cannell
Director of Sales and Marketing
Scot Cannell comes to Tactex with an extensive background in strategic marketing and organizational leadership. Before joining Tactex in 2006, Mr. Cannell was Senior Vice President of National Business Sales for Smart Furniture, a US-based company that provides unique workspace and display furniture to customers across North America. Prior to working with Smart Furniture, Mr. Cannell was CEO of Sarasota Shutters Inc. where he created and executed a business plan that transformed the 20-year organization into a profitable enterprise. Early in his career, Mr. Cannell spent 11 years in a variety of leadership positions with Bose Corporation for both Bose USA and Bose Europe. Mr. Cannell began his career by receiving his Commission as an Officer in the Canadian Forces.
