Tactex launched its new Single Taxel Architecture (STA) evaluation kit this month. The STA Kit has been designed with the goal of providing engineers and product developers with a cost-effective way to test Tactex's Kinotex technology. Unlike other Tactex products which use arrays of sensing elements or "taxels" to create large sensing surfaces, the STA Kit focuses on single point sensing technology. Featuring sensors as small as 5mm in diameter, the unit has been designed for use in applications such as haptics research or grip analysis where highly sensitive yet unobtrusive sensors are required. One STA hub allows the user to gather data from up to six individual elements.
