Large Sensor Array
The Large Sensor Array contains 44 "taxels" or independent interface pressure sensors seated within a 26"x 28" flexible foam sensing surface. A durable, black polyurethane cover encases the sensor components and electronics. The system comes with Windows data-logging software for recording digital output and an optional API.

Sample Application
The technology behind the Tactex Large Sensor Array originated as part of a highly sophisticated custom-sensor solution. Tactex was tasked with developing a non-conductive array sensor that was able to withstand the wear and tear of daily use while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and reliability. Client specifications required that the sensor system be capable of detecting a full range of motion - distinguishing between types of movement (full contact, partial contact, minute movement, rolling etc). In order to meet the client's requirements, Tactex's engineering team designed a custom-made Kinotex fibre optic sensor pad. A series of sophisticated algorithms were implemented in software and rigorously tested by Tactex's in-house software engineers to create a complete top-of-the-line sensor system.
